During a trip to Congo in 2019, Laurent Chirio, Christophe Aubin and myself, discovered a new Epiplatys in the greater Mayombe forest, which today delights many European killifish fans.
After the trip, Christophe Aubin and I both bred them and distributed two populations: Epiplatys sp "COCCA 2019-09 Boumayombi" and Epiplatys sp "COCCA 2019-10 Nyanga".
It should be pointed out however, that these two populations are almost certainly the same because they occupy same small hydrographic basin. They were collected only 600 meters apart, in two very small rivers flowing in the same direction. That of collection point 09 joined another small river which collection point 10 probably also joined." - Christian CAUVET, 2023, FB.
